From the AP November 19, 2023:
“Populist Javier Milei resoundingly won Argentina’s presidential election Sunday, swinging the country to the right following a fiercely polarized campaign in which he promised a dramatic shake-up to the state to deal with soaring inflation and rising poverty.
With 99.4% of votes tallied in the presidential runoff, Milei had 55.7% and Economy Minister Sergio Massa 44.3%, according to Argentina’s electoral authority. It is the highest percentage that a presidential candidate has received since the South American country’s return to democracy in 1983.”
Milei cut the number of government agencies from 21 to 9. He has fired government employees. He has reduced the budget. Milei has slashed the number of regulations. Argentina is reversing the policies of the left that are for the purpose of the seizure of private property and returning the property to the people. Argentina is recognizing that life, liberty, and property, are the right of the people endowed to them by the creator and not the right of the government to control. Argentina is becoming a nation based on individualism and not collectivism. Collectivism had done in Argentina what it always does and that is to bring poverty, crime, and misery. Over 40 percent of the population is classified as living in poverty while the overwhelming majority would be considered poor.
Milei, in person, spoke to the World Economic Forum, the foremost purveyor of collectivism in the world today, and rebuked the authoritarians to their socialist faces. This is what he told them, “Today, I'm here to tell you that the Western world is in danger. It is in danger because those who are supposed to defend the values of the West are co-opted by a vision of the world that inevitably leads to socialism and thereby to poverty. Unfortunately, in recent decades, motivated by some well-meaning individuals willing to help others, and others motivated by the wish to belong to a privileged class, the main leaders of the Western world have abandoned the model of freedom for different versions of what we call collectivism. We're here to tell you that collectivist experiments are never the solution to the problems that inflict the citizens of the world. Rather, they are the root cause. Do believe me, no one is in a better place than us, Argentines, to testify to these two points.”
The very same thing could and should be said to the Democrats and the RINOS in the United States. They are the group motivated by the wish to belong to the privileged class while enslaving the population to the slave master called the government. It is my wish that Trump will be elected and will use Milei as his role model.
