I hope you all have a very wonderful Independence day. Yes, celebrate as John Adams said we should in a letter to his wife, “I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires, and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
I would add to what John Adams said and after you have commemorated this day as a Day of Deliverance with solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty, read the Declaration of Independence. Understand that what we should be celebrating is our deliverance from the tyranny of government, our understanding that our liberties come from God and not government, and that the authority of government must be limited, and the liberties of the people must be protected.
We celebrate Independence Day because it is recognized as the day that a brave and dedicated people declared that they would not accept tyrannical government, government that dictated how they must live their lives, choices they must make, and thoughts they could have. They declared that Americans were independent from the tyranny of government in 1776 and each year thereafter.
If you are a Democrat or a RINO, please take an extra minute and ask yourself if you agree with the Declaration of Independence, ask yourself if you would have put your name to that document. If you do agree and if you would have signed, ask yourself why you support those who disagree with the Declaration of Independence and wish for government to once again dictate how each American must live their life, how they must think, and the choices they must make.
Please, all Americans do as John Adams said we should do, and that is have a time of reflection and devotion before the fun.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
