CONSERVATIVES ALWAYS AT A DISTINCT DISADVANTAGE

If you have followed history, and remember history does repeat, you have learned that conservative movements always operate at a distinct short-term disadvantage. The disadvantage comes about because conservatives believe in following truth and following rules. When conservatives make a commitment, they believe they have an obligation to honor that commitment. Liberals, or the left live by and only honor their age-old axiom of the “ends always justify the means”.
The conflicts between conservatives or individualists, and liberals or collectivists have been a part of history. The liberals promote government control over the individual while the conservatives promote individual liberty and freedom. The collectivist has taken this position best expressed by Marx, “In bourgeois society capital is independent and has individuality, while the living person is dependent and has no individuality. And the abolition of this state of things is called by the bourgeois, abolition of individuality and freedom! And rightly so. The abolition of bourgeois individuality, bourgeois independence, and bourgeois freedom is undoubtedly aimed at.”
The collectivist, the communist, the Democrat have as their ends to destroy individuality and will do anything to accomplish this end. They will lie, they will cheat, they will destroy, they will make commitments with the intent of not honoring those commitments.
The conservatives believe we must live by laws we make, that there is right and wrong, and that the word given by an individual has meaning. The liberal, the Democrats believe exactly the opposite. They believe cheating is commendable if it gets you closer to the end of destroying individuality.
Conservatives are at a disadvantage because honor and right are meaningful. Should we change? That is a moot point. We will not, cannot, because that is who we are.
