The United States of America was founded on the unique concept of freedom and liberty for all. Today this concept is under attack with the false promise that social justice and equality are fair and offer hope. History has shown exactly the opposite. This piece below was written years ago with credit given to Thomas Paine. Please read and contemplate. After you have read and contemplated see my question at the end.
I do not choose to be a common man,
It is my right to be uncommon … if I can,
I seek opportunity … not security.
I do not wish to be a kept citizen.
Humbled and dulled by having the
State look after me.
I want to take the calculated risk;
To dream and to build.
To fail and to succeed.
I refuse to barter incentive for a dole;
I prefer the challenges of life
To the guaranteed existence;
The thrill of fulfillment
To the stale calm of Utopia.
I will not trade freedom for beneficence
Nor my dignity for a handout
I will never cower before any master
Nor bend to any threat.
It is my heritage to stand erect.
Proud and unafraid;
To think and act for myself,
To enjoy the benefit of my creations
And to face the world boldly and say:
This, with God’s help, I have done
All this is what it means
To be an Entrepreneur.”
Freedom and liberty are all about being the uncommon man, not the person who will conform to the dictates of the state. The common man is about accepting the fate dictated to you by the state. The uncommon man adheres to Individualism while the common man adheres to Collectivism (Marxism, communism, socialism, progressive, Democrat – all virtually the same).
Samuel Adams, referred to as the Father of the Revolution, told us “It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”
Will you become one of the tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom? Please let me know if you are interested in joining those of us who believe in freedom and liberty and understand that social justice and equality always end in enslavement and tyranny.
