All of the problems the United States faces can be fixed by the American people if the American people have the will to fix them. It is fair to say that the United States has arrived at this point in time because the American people lost the desire to govern themselves and assumed they could trust the people they had elected would do what was in the best interest of our country. How wrong we were. What we now know is that the people we elected, with few exceptions, did what was in their best interest. These people quickly learned, they could say what they thought the American people wanted to hear, and then do what they needed to do to enrich themselves. Many people come to mind, but certainly Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell, and Paul Ryan would have to be at the top of any list.
These people have demonstrated time after time that they will say one thing one minute, and do the exact opposite the next minute. Veracity, consistency, and virtue are not traits associated with any of them. Unfortunately, this is the reality of being a politician. America is today ruled by politicians and not by statesmen. A politician is very flexible while a statesman stands by principle. Nobody ever had to guess what his answer would be when Ronald Reagan was asked a question. Reagan placed country above party and personal gain.
George Washington told us in his farewell address, that the problem the United States would face would be having people place political party over the good of the country. This has happened. When asked who they are, people will place their political affiliation above being an American. Those holding elected office and appointed office place personal needs first, party needs second, and national needs third.
This has taken place over a long period of time. In the United States today, Americans will denigrate American values while placing party values as their first priority. Indoctrination of our youth and adults, being augmented by propaganda, and enforced by intimidation has brought about this anti-American mentality of many.
To correct this, we must have an honest discussion about who we were, who we are, and what we want to become. In order to have an honest discussion about such a critical topic, we must place our political party affiliation at the bottom of importance and place the welfare of our country as the primary importance. Because our family has voted for a particular party since 1900, should be of no importance. What must be predominant is do we want to be a nation based on atheism, do we want to be a nation where free and independent thought are encouraged and rewarded or a nation of conformity to one ideology, do we want to be a nation that rewards corruption, do we want to be a nation that defends the innocent, do we want to be a nation of opportunity, do we want to be a nation that believes in rule of law or arbitrary law, do we want to be a nation that protects rights and liberties for all or just for those the majority designates, do we want to be a nation that encourages hard work, honesty, and family values, would be a great start.
Once the individual has identified the values they desire for our country, we will then know if we want to be an individualist or a collectivist nation. It is clear that the Joe Biden’s, the Nancy Pelosi’s, the Paul Ryan’s, and the Mitch McConnell’s of the nation will not be able to participate in what has to be an honest discussion, they have already sold their souls to the Devil and the Devil does not release easily.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
