We are constantly being told that Trump would end our democracy. Our founders unanimously rejected democracy and formed us as a republic. They did this because they, like Trump, understood that democracy leads to tyranny. Our founders were students of government. Our founders realized that either direct democracy or representative democracy leads to tyranny.
Plato explained, “Tyranny naturally arises out of democracy.” Plato also told us, “If you do not take an interest in your government than you are doomed to live under the rule of fools.” Both Plato thoughts are true in the United States today.
Never has the United States been under the rules of such fools as Biden, Schumer, McConnell, and Romney to name a few. These people are telling us that it is the proper role of government to dictate how each person must live their lives, thoughts they can have, and how and if they can express those thoughts. These fools are telling us that any disagreement with them is misinformation and must be censored.
Democracy is majority rule. Our founders said we must be ruled by the law and not the whims and wishes of a few or an easily manipulated majority. A republic is rule by law. Our Constitution is our final authority or the final law. Trump is telling us we must get rid of democracy or the whimsical rule of some majority and again be ruled by the Constitution.
Biden has told us for instance that freedom of speech is not absolute despite the Constitution saying that it is. Biden’s version requires that somebody would have to state what speech is or is not permissible. Whoever played that role would be a tyrant dictating what we can or cannot say. Trump is saying we should not rely on the opinion of the tyrant, but all should be able to speak freely. The people would then have to make up their minds as to whom they believed.
Trump is telling us that liberty is superior to the dictates of a tyrant. What do you believe? If you agree with Trump, you support liberty, you support freedom, you choose republic over democracy as did our founders. If you disagree with Trump, you are declaring that you support the tyrannical elements of democracy. The choice is yours.
