The common refrain amongst the media and politicians is the constant call for bipartisan action. Bipartisan is defined as: marked by or involving cooperation, agreement, and compromise between two major political parties. Bi means two and partisan is defined as: a strong supporter of a party, cause, or person. Bipartisan would require strong supporters of a belief to set aside their belief and support an idea or action with which they disagree. Is that a compromise or a sellout?
To have different strong beliefs in the role of government began early in our history. The idea as to what should be the role of government in the lives of the citizens was a contention between Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. Jefferson advocated strongly for what we now call individualism or a minimal role of government, while Adams supported a more powerful government. Understand that the role called for by Adams was not the same as the role called for by the collectivists (Marxists, communists, socialists, progressives, Democrats, - all virtually the same) of today, which is total control by the government over every aspect of the life of the individual. It is ironic that the Democrat party of today would like people to believe that they are the party of Jefferson, and the Republicans are the party of Adams. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The Democrats of today are not the party of any of our founding fathers, but are direct descendants of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin who called for complete government control over the lives and thoughts of the people which would result in a classless society where all people conform to the collectivist ideology of equality in all aspects, and complete capitulation to the Marxist doctrine. Where two parties have completely different goals, and hold firmly to the belief that there goal is correct, it is difficult to imagine a bipartisan agreement unless the issue is mundane and meaningless. In today’s world, there is even disagreement as to what is the meaning of the word mother. One party accepts biology that dictates only a women can give birth, while the other party wants us to believe that who can get pregnant and give birth is dependent upon whether or not the individual deems themselves to be biologically able. One party is in reality world while the other party is in a fantasy world. Although many in the United States talk about bipartisanship, none really support it. In years bygone, say in the days of Jefferson and Adams, even though people had differences as to what was the role of government, they still held strong beliefs that the good of the country was far more important than was the political success of their political party. Allegiance was first and foremost to country and not party. All parties held that individual liberties and rights were given to each of us by God and not by government. When individual liberties and rights were the issue, members of both parties voted their strongly held belief that government had no authority to infringe or abridge these Creator endowed liberties and rights. That is no longer true. Today, the Democrats, belief that government must have total control over all rights and liberties, and it is the proper role of government to lease rights and liberties to individuals when government determines it is in the best interest of government to do so. Always understand that the lease can be terminated without any prior notice. Freedom Loving Americans hold the belief upon which our nation was founded, and that is that the only role government is to ever play when it comes to individual rights and liberties is that government is to protect those rights and liberties for the individual. We have the Democrat party advancing collectivism or communism, and the other party advancing individualism or freedom. There have been some actions that have been taken that have been referred to as bipartisan actions. This has been able to occur because we have had politicians, those like John Boehner, Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, and other RINO’s who claim to be individualists, but are closet collectivists who believe in big government. The Untied States has truly reached the place in the woods where the road diverges. We are beyond the point of meaningful compromise or bipartisan actions. Our choice is communism, per the Democrats and yes RINO’s, or freedom per the Freedom Loving Americans. We have been here before. Prior to July 4, 1776, the American colonists were trying to determine if they would live under freedom or tyranny. Samuel Adams, who was a spokesman for liberty, told the colonists in words more applicable today than when he said, “It is high time the people of this country explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves.” That is the decision facing the United States today. Will we live as slaves, as the Democrats are proposing, or will we live free as free men as the Freedom Loving Americans are proposing? Just as the choice was under the control of the American colonists then, the choice today is under the control of the American people. What choice will we make?
