We keep hearing that Americans are not paying their fair share in taxes. Marxist/Progressive 2020 presidential candidate Robert O'Rourke proposed in Iowa that the U.S. "allow" farmers to give up their "fair share" of crops to fight climate change. Of course, he never defined “fair share.” He also claimed that “we” allow farmers to make a profit. In our system, the farmer owns the land and has the “natural right” to property as given by the Creator. We or the government has the duty to protect the “natural right” but “we” have no say in the farmers right to make a profit. What O’Rourke is saying comes directly from the teachings of Karl Marx.
So back to “fair share.” Next time you hear this fall back bumper sticker of the Marxist/Progressives (Democrats), simply ask them what they mean by “fair share.” To the best of my knowledge “fair share” has been defined only twice. Karl Marx defined fair share as everything going to the government and then the government would redistribute based on some formula of “need.” The other definition of “fair share” was stated by the hero of the Marxist/Progressives, Franklin Roosevelt. FDR proposed a 100 percent top tax rate. Roosevelt told Congress in April 1942, “no American citizen ought to have a net income, after he has paid his taxes, of more than $25,000 a year.” Roosevelt went on to say that this was “fair and just.” In fairness to Roosevelt, the $25,000 was in 1942 dollars. That would be about $350,000 today. Never the less, Roosevelt’s confiscation rate was 100%. Please do not let the Sanders and AOCs see this confiscation proposal.
