Now we learn that the Obama regime has paid ransom to terrorist groups in exchange for the release of American hostages. The facts are the proof, yet Obama and his henchmen continue to lie. Hillary Clinton has been a liar from the early days of her public life. She has been a major contributor to many of the egregious lies of the Obama regime. In addition to the above, she was an architect of the Benghazi fabrication. She continued her façade by belittling the parents of the brave Americans who died because of her failures. She belittled them these families by calling them liars about her lies to them.
Clinton has blatantly lied about her emails while Secretary of State, about her self-dealing while Secretary of State, and now she is lying about her reasons why she set up the private server in the first place; trying to defuse her guilt and her deceitful intention by suggesting Colin Powell told her she should have a private server. Even if Powell made a comment at a dinner party, it in no way excuses Clinton nor lessens her guilt.
The lies of the Progressives, specifically Obama and Clinton, are numerous and documented. That the left accepts and makes excuses for this action adds greatly to the danger of this behavior. It is now common practice for government to lie to the American people. The amount of distrust the people have in the government has correspondingly decreased. A Republic cannot exist when the people no longer trust government. Freedom cannot exist when the people no longer trust government. The ends do not justify the means, unless your defined ends are to transform the United States into a tyrannical Marxist state. The behavior of Obama and Clinton and the acceptance by the left of this behavior, has the United States on that destructive path.
George Washington said, “It appears to me that little more than common sense and common honesty in the transactions of the community at large would be necessary to make us a great and a happy nation. For if the general government lately adopted shall be arranged and administered in such a manner as to acquire the full confidence of the American people, I sincerely believe they will have greater advantages, from their natural, moral, and political circumstances, for public felicity than any other people ever possessed.” It is implied that a dishonest government would produce the opposite effect.
Thomas Jefferson explained, “As, for the safety of society, we commit honest maniacs to Bedlam, so judges should be withdrawn from their bench, whose erroneous biases are leading us to dissolution. it may indeed injure them in fame or in fortune; but it saves the republic, which is the first and supreme law.” We should certainly expand the meaning of judges to all public servants.
Trust between citizens and their government officials and elected representatives is a vital element of a free society. In the absence of trust, citizens become cynical about their political system and disaffected with the existing order. Distrust will produce alienation and withdrawal from the political process, leaving behind a shallow, fragile state that will become incapable of governing. If it festers, widespread and intense distrust will eventually a backlash against the government.
Failed states, revolutions, civil wars, and other related traumatic failures of governance all share in common the absence or collapse of trust: between citizens and the state, between different political factions or parties, and between ethnic, social or class groups at the mass level.
This is the danger of this proven practice of deceit and blatant lies by Obama, Clinton, and the Progressives in general. This is the danger of the left accepting this practice, defending this practice, and perpetuating this practice. The logical conclusion is the fundamental transformation of the United States to a tyrannical Marxist state, but then this is the goal of Obama, Clinton and the Progressives in general.
