The nation has changed. The Bible, which used to be used as a primary textbook in our schools in no longer allowed in our schools and other public places. Reference to God or Jesus, much less prayer, is no longer allowed in our schools and other public places. Although our nation greatly frowns upon anyone denigrating the Prophet Mohammad, the denigration of God or Jesus is praised as art.
The Bible believing Christian is no longer a respected part of society. The Bible believing Christian is now viewed as a right wing radical, a terrorist, and a threat to the United States. The Bible believing Christian is now chastised, ridiculed, minimized, and is the object of verbal and sometimes physical discrimination. The modern United States is not a Christian nation but a Secular/Progressive nation.
That the United States is a nation championing freedom and liberty is a misconception. The United States was founded on the principles of individualism; which is freedom and liberty. No longer is a citizen in the United States a free individual. Americans cannot make independent choices for themselves, their families, or their businesses. In all instances, the enslaving Progressive government has laws, rules, and regulations that dictate what we can do and how we must act.
The individual citizen no longer has total control over his private property. The IRS tells that individual how much of his income he can keep. The EPA tells that individual what mud puddles must be protected on his property or face severe fines and even imprisonment. Mothers are told what they cannot allow children to walk to nearby parks and play in those parks. Families are told that they must have health coverage and what provisions must be included in the policy. Businesses are told who they can hire, what they must pay, and what fringe benefits they must provide. The government has so many laws and regulations today that the very best citizen is estimated to commit a felony at least three times each day. The government now controls all aspects of society by the threat of force, both monetary and imprisonment.
That the United States Constitution is still a relevant document is a misconception. The United States Constitution has not been relevant for at least 150 years. The Constitution clearly limits the power of the federal government. Today the federal government is all powerful with virtually no restrictions. The Constitution says that the three branches of government would be co-equal. The Judicial Branch of government is no longer a co-equal branch of government but the dominating branch dictating what the Legislative and the Executive branches can or cannot do. The Supreme Court has determined it can and will make law, execute law, and interpret law. The Supreme Court has established itself as the all-powerful branch of government even though it is the only branch of government not directly elected by the people. No branches of government adhere to the Constitution.
That all problems the United States faces today are because of the politicians is a misconception. The politicians are not responsible for any of our problems including the suffocating and destructive national debt. The regulators are not responsible for any of our suffocating and destructive problems including the tyrannical methods of the IRS, EPA, BLM, and OSHA. Our nation, at its conception was a nation where the people were the declared sovereign and those in government were our servants, elected or not. The people, for many reasons including indifference, abdicated their position of power in favor of a non-responsible position of servitude.
We the people also accepted the progressive philosophy which states that it is the responsibility of the government to solve all of our national problems as well as all of our personal problems. We elected those advocating progressive solutions and championed that cause. When problems arise we have accepted the progressive stance that the problem can only be solved by government. Two examples are abdicating our responsibility for such personal matters as our retirement and our health care to the progressive government. Both programs are bankrupting our nation and yet, rather than insisting that these destructive programs be phased out of existence, we believe the politician when they say the program can be saved by creating even more debt. This solution never solved the problem and never will, yet we the people continue to abdicate our responsibility by electing people who want to continue to enslave the citizen for the politicians own purpose of maintaining power.
That we should believe in the wisdom of the American voter because the American voter is wise, is a misconception. The typical American voter is not wise. The typical American voter is not informed. The typical American voter does not understand either side of the issue. If the American voter was wise, the United States would not be in the position it is in today; a huge bureaucratic and inefficient government, a national debt that threatens our economy and our security, a foreign policy that threatens our very existence, and having our very freedom and liberty threatened both internally and externally. No a wise and informed citizenry would not sell their soul for a government dole, and yet that is what this “wise” American voter has done. The politician understands how uninformed and gullible the American voter is.
That the Republican Party is the party of the conservative is a misconception. The Republican Party has promoted progressive ideas almost from its conception. The Republican Party is the party of Theodore Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, Dwight Eisenhower, George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W Bush, John McCain, Mitt Romney, and now Donald Trump; progressives all. The Republican Conservatives would be Calvin Coolidge, Barry Goldwater, and Ronald Reagan. All three of these Americans were ridiculed by the Republican “elite.” The Republican Party has advocated government solutions and created more government right along with the progressives. The recent Republican Party, even when it had the power, has not reduced spending, has not reduced government control or regulation, and has not insisted in rule of law, limited government, divided government, or rule by the people.
We the American people are living under many misconceptions. If we are to once again be a nation replicating the image conceived by our founders, we must first of all understand that we are responsible for all our nation’s problems, that we must again become a nation that champions free, independent, and responsible citizens, that we must be informed, and that we cannot solve the problems created by the progressive philosophy by electing those who champion those same progressive programs. We will not be able to correct the progressive course overnight, but we must start today and not tomorrow. First of all be very discerning in who you support for all offices; federal state, and local including school boards. If the candidate favors more government, run. As Reagan said, “Government is not the solution, government is the problem.”
