It is common for those on the left, including the press and the academic elites, to categorize Adolph Hitler and the Nazi Party as being right wing. The left cannot escape being identified with the likes of Lenin, Stalin, and Mao, so they try to push Hitler onto the right. In fact, the Nazi’s and Hitler were Socialists which would include them in the broad category of Collectivist.
This is from the Nazi platform of 1920: “The state shall make it its primary duty to provide a livelihood for all its citizens…. the abolition of all incomes unearned by work…. the nationalization of all businesses that have been formed into corporations… profit-sharing in large enterprises…. extensive development of insurance for old-age…. land reform suitable to our national requirements.”
Adolph Hitler said in 1927: “We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are determined to destroy this system under all conditions.”
The essence of the quote by Hitler has been expressed by Obama, Hillary, Jarret, Axelrod, Wilson, Debbs, Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, and Chavez. They are all believers of the Collectivist movement and steeped in the socialist philosophy.
Here is what people must understand about socialism. Socialism is not principally about redistributing wealth or income from the rich to the poor. Socialism is about politicians planning the economy. Politicization of the economy, not redistribution, is the hallmark of socialism. Redistribution, while an economically complex and morally fraught issue, is a normal part of a welfare state.
A socialist, or an individual falling under the broad category of collectivist, will always suggest, recommend, or force a government plan to correct all things. Anybody who recommends more government falls under the broad heading of socialist. The socialist believes that central planning by the state is the only viable solution.
What we have learned is that collectivists are not limited to one political party. We even know of those who would define themselves as conservative but still advocate bigger or more government to fix all problems. Those politicians who supported the recent Obama, Ryan, Boehner Budget, would have supported a socialist program and would have to be classified as “socialist” for at least that instance. The reality is, that many who would call themselves conservative, have supported these types of programs many more times than they have opposed them. The excuse they use for supporting these socialist programs, does not make them any less socialist.
We who are true “Freedom Loving Americans” who believe in the Individualist philosophy promoted by our founders, which includes the belief in “rule of law,”” limited government,” “divided government,” and “rule by the people” must understand what socialism really is so we can determine who socialists are. We must be able to identify these individuals by their actions and not their self-imposed labels.
