As on noon tomorrow, Freedom Loving Americans have reason to hope that the United States will reverse course and once again travel down the same road that was taken by our founders. Remember, the founders based our nation on rule of law, limited government, divided government, and rule by the people. They did this because it was their intent to preserve for them the freedom they had won. They did this because it was their dream that all future generations of Americans would also live in freedom.
The “hope and change” promised by Obama and longed for by his wife is the exact opposite. Obama’s “hope and change” brings on the tyranny promised by Marx when he said it would take despotic means to bring about his fair and just, classless society longed for by the Obama’s.
At this time, I see reasons for real hope. The cabinet choices of Trump appear to be excellent choices. The choices have exhibited intelligence and class at their hearings. While those like Elizabeth Warren have tried to goad them into her ridiculous ideologue arguments, they have stayed cool and continued to speak directly without catering to political correctness. They have dealt openly and honestly with even the very foolish questions they were asked. They are direct and take charge people. They were truly refreshing. They are so different from what we have witnessed over the last many years during confirmation hearings.
What gives a person additional hope is that perhaps there is a real chance that foolish, needless, but ingrained programs and wasteful spending will be eliminated. This has been unheard of over the last twenty-five years. When the public has been told that congress made cuts, congress lied to the American people. No cuts were made. The amount of increased spending was to be reduced. Now we are talking about real cuts.
Several Democratic senators harshly criticized spending cuts planned by the Trump Administration during a confirmation hearing Thursday for Rick Perry, who is nominated to lead the Energy Department. Thank you, Rick Perry.
A report published the other day said that Trump transition officials are talking about major cuts to the Energy Department that would reduce nuclear physics and scientific computing research funding to 2008 levels, as well as eliminating three agency initiatives: The Office of Electricity, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and the Office of Fossil Energy.
The cuts are among trillions of dollars in spending targeted by those close to the president-elect.
Marxist/Progressives (Democrats) implored Perry to push Trump away from those cuts.
The Energy cuts are just a few of the major reductions in spending Trump’s team envisions, and Democrats’ reaction to them Thursday preview a major fight over federal spending if the Trump White House follows through.
Other proposed cuts would be, the National Endowment for Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities would be eliminated and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting would be privatized.
Department of Justice programs like the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services and the Violence Against Women Grants and the Legal Services Corporation would end, and State Department funding for international climate change programs would be zeroed out.
These are real reasons for real hope. We Freedom Loving Americans must be diligent to be sure the Trump Administration continues down this proper road. We must make sure that the Establishment Republican like Ryan, McCarthy, McConnell, and McCain do not compromise on these necessary cuts.
Hopefully the Supreme Court nominee will be a reasons for even more hope.
