Spending levels are billions of dollars higher than what conservatives wanted, and at least two top policy priorities — language addressing Syrian refugees and so-called sanctity of life — were cut.
“We’re breaking our pledge on the budget caps to the American people, we’ve lost fiscal discipline, and we’re throwing it all on the next generation,” was the comment of one Freedom Loving Representative.
Another Freedom Loving Representative said the lifting of the oil export ban is a good thing, but “there are about $1.3 trillion” other reasons to vote against the omnibus.
The Marxist/Progressives on the other hand liked the bill because the omnibus spending measure was largely stripped of controversial policy riders opposed by the White House and the other Marxist/Progressives; including language rolling back Obama’s Syrian refugee plans and key environmental and financial regulations.
Press Secretary Earnest ticked off a laundry list of victories ranging from the exclusion of “ideological riders,” such as language defunding Planned Parenthood, and an across-the-board increase in spending above levels set by sequestration.
“We walked into these negotiations focused on making sure that Republicans would not succeed in advancing their ideological agenda through the budget process,” the spokesman said. “We did succeed in fighting off those efforts.”
The Marxist/Progressives succeeded despite the “Republicans” having control of both the House and the Senate. Once again all Americans who cherish freedom were the big losers.
