Yet today, Americans have not only accepted the pretense of the government taking care of them, they encourage it. The Progressives have sold this concept through their indoctrination program. They have been so successful selling this concept that Americans depend on the government form date of conception up to and beyond death. The news is filled with stories of Americans crying for more government control and government is only too quick to oblige, even to the point of regulating the size of airline seats.
A free America would be demanding that government become less involved in our lives. A free America would strive to be individually independent and self-reliant looking to the government only for the purpose of basic protection from outside invaders and internal criminals. It these very elements that government has decided it is their duty to protect; the criminal and the terrorist.
So pervasive has this government dependency become we now see the younger generation determining their vote based on which candidate will relieve them from the consequences of their choices. We have learned that the graduating Class of 2016 will leave college with the highest amount of student loans of any class in history at an average of $35,000 per graduate, according to the Student Loan Report. If both presidential candidates stumped on student loan forgiveness,Donald Trump would edge out Hillary Clinton, with 58 percent of millennials saying they would vote for Trump, according to the survey.
The first point is that to leave college with that kind of debt is indicative of somebody who makes poor and irresponsible choices. The loan program was taken over by the government several years ago and grants loans to any applicant. This is irresponsible on the part of any lender. Only a government with the goal of sharing wealth would have such an irresponsible program.
The second point is the narrow minded thinking exhibited by these indoctrinated students believing that another should be responsible for their debt. These are clearly young adults who were not required to be responsible for the consequences of their choices as children. They were coddled and led to believe that the world owed them just because they existed. This is not as much a reflection on them as it is on those who set examples for them and taught them.
The third point is that these people have no idea that freedom can only exist with limited government. This requires responsible, independent, and self-sufficient citizens. The social justice agenda, with which they have been indoctrinated and that which the Progressives have stressed, has taught them that government is the answer. History proves exactly the opposite.
Marx advocated that government should have a monopoly on all lending, not just student lending. Marx understood that under his scenario, the government could further enslave the citizen with the possibility of loan forgiveness furthering the transformation to a fair and just classless society.
This poll reveals the contorted thinking of the American Citizen. These citizens are saying ask not what I can do for my country, but what will my government do for me. Thomas Jefferson knew that when the American Citizen accepted and encouraged the government to take care of them, the days of American freedom were gone. That day is today. Only a revolution can restore the freedom the American Citizen has willingly surrendered.
