When we study the founders and their intent, the concept that less government is better government is prevalent. This is the reason the founders wrote into the constitution that the federal government would have limited powers and then listed those powers. The 10th amendment (which is now the forgotten amendment) reinforced this idea that the federal government has only the powers given to it while all other powers are given to the states and the people.
Thus a radical shift in political thought was started. Individuals are not given rights by a government or king, the power of that government or king must be justly derived from the consent of the governed. This was written into the Declaration of Independence. The Constitution stated that rights would no longer be given to the people by the government but the government would be given limited rights from the people.
America would be a land of freedom and opportunity, with minimal government intrusion, a limited central government that would simply protect the people and maintain a safe environment for them to pursue happiness in any way they saw fit.
The Founding Fathers would weep if they saw how destructive the government of the nation they risked everything to create had become to the liberty of the people.
Today, in the nation with the same name, same constitution, and same celebrated date of independence, we are not the same free people the founders created, but the source of power has been inverted. Government now has unlimited powers and the freedom of the people is limited. Patrick Henry told us the Constitution was an instrument not for the government to restrain the people, but the Constitution is an instrument for the people to restrain the government, lest it (the government) should come to dominate the lives and interests of the people.
The federal government has come to dominate our lives and our interests. Every facet of our lives has some form of government control and the Marxist/Progressives push every day for more control. A people controlled by government are not a free people. A people controlled by government are an oppressed people. The government in Washington DC has more control over the lives of American citizens today than the government in London had over the lives of the colonists. Sam Adams would be working his magic to bring about a revolution if he were alive today for we are closer to a totalitarian government than the limited government established by Adams and the other founders.
I am calling for that revolution. No, the revolution will not be won with bullets. The revolution will not succeed if it takes the form of a coup. The revolution must be won in the hearts and minds of the people. The revolution must be won in local elections, it must be won in school board elections, it must be won in state elections, and it must be won by getting rid of the big government Republicans and replacing them limited government and Freedom Loving Americans who are willing to put freedom and country above self and party.
We Freedom Loving Americans can succeed if we will love, demand, and fight for freedom with the same spirit and dedication our founders did. This means putting country and freedom above self. Sam Adams told us it does not take a majority to prevail but it takes an irate and tireless minority who are keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.
This is my message. I am willing to go anyplace and anytime to speak to any and all groups. All you need to do is call me. My number is on this website as is my email address. Ronald Reagan told us that if not us than who, if not now than when.
