I remind you of this because of the tragedy of the court ruling today. This will not be about the right or the wrong of the decision, but the further illumination of the tragedy that is our political system. The conversation after the revelation of once again things and words not meaning what they are or what they say, but instead being or meaning what is necessary to bring about an end, revealed once again the wisdom of the founding fathers.
The Supreme Court chose to bring about a contorted ruling based on a very straight forward and simple phrase. My point today is not the ruling but the reaction. Immediately the talk turned to whether the victor was a certain political party. The conclusion seems to be that both political parties won. This was the very evil of the discussion.
Nobody was concerned if the American public had won. Nobody was concerned that even though a few Americans were allowed to keep their government giveaways, the country as a whole would continue to bear the brunt of a Marxist contrived idea. Nobody discussed the fact that along with this Marxist contrived health care takeover, and the out of control government programs of Social Security and Medicare, our nation continues down the inevitable path of what is now Greece. Sadly, the concern was the political party.
In so many situations today the discussion is which political party won. This is the very evil about which we were warned.
John Adams said:
There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.
George Washington said:
“However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”
Yes, both were correct. We have come to that place in time where what is right for one of the political parties is placed above what is right for the country as a whole. We have reached that point where the division is now destroying the very fabric of our country. We have come to that point where the competing forces are those who would love freedom and liberty or Freedom Loving Americans, and those who believe in the ultimate destructive forces of government or the Marxist/Progressives and big government lovers. We the people did not listen to those wise men who founded this nation and through neglect have allowed this destructive division. It is only we the people who can correct this situation. We must work to defeat any elected official in any capacity of government who places the government above the rights of the people. We must limit the federal government to only the express powers in the constitution. We must elect only local and state representatives who understand the evil of government and will no longer comprise that principal. We must elect representatives who will always place freedom and liberty above any party. This will mean all Freedom Loving Americans will have to work on campaigns and yes even run for office. This effort must be started today.
