This is what has really happened.
Economic growth has been lackluster for years.
Improvements to U.S. competitiveness have fallen behind previous business cycles.
The housing market is still only a shadow of its former self.
The federal deficit has almost doubled in six years.
Labor participation rates remain at the lowest levels in decades.
Employers cut back on health and pension benefits.
Many communities continue to struggle from unemployment.
Poverty is still widespread.
Household debt is still high.
And yet with this record, the Marxist/Progressives would have us believe more of the same thing will bring prosperity. Hope and change has failed in every society in which it has been tried; why would it be different here?
