Marx said it was critical to have a steeply progressive income tax to complete the transition. All night we heard that the wealthy should pay more. All night we heard about an income gap. We never heard about a work gap, a risk gap, an effort gap, or an investment gap. Marx never discussed these other gaps either. Marx said that people should produce to their full capacity but should receive based on their need. This is what those on the stage echoed as they explained all the free things that should be provided to “the people” because people have a right to be receive the government. Obama said the same thing when he told Joe the Plumber that he would be required to share his wealth.
Hillary echoed Marx and his surplus value theory when she explained that all profits should be split with all and not paid to executives. Marx said investment should not be rewarded because to reward investment was in fact stealing from the worker. The participants consistently denigrated those who would achieve and through their achievement accumulate wealth. Marx said this type of system enhanced greed and caused competition which is bad for society. Yet it is the desire to excel that has resulted in the advancement in the overall living conditions of the whole population. Those societies that negate excellence and competition have had living conditions stagnate and even regress; that would be communist societies.
We could continue point by point, but will sum up the evening as totally anti-constitution when the discussion turned to who was the most progressive. Progressive and Marxist are synonymous. Marx was a Communist. Progressive and Communist are identical. The Communist advocates control by the state of all elements of society. The Constitution was intended to limit government and have a society ruled by the people. Patrick Henry explained that the Constitution was to protect the people from the tyranny of government. Our nation was to be a nation that celebrated the individual. Communism celebrates the community. The Democratic (Marxist/Progressive) candidates were constantly denigrating the individual and espousing community. If you believe that is the course we as a nation should follow, understand that is the course chosen and followed by the Soviet Union and its satellites, Mao’s China, Castro’s Cuba, and recently Venezuela. If that is what you want for the United States, continue to support Democrats, Progressives, Marxists, and Communists. The United States became the “shining city on the hill” on the backs of hard working and competitive individuals who strove to achieve and excel, not on the backs of those who settle to conform to the dictates of community and receive because they exist.
We who are Freedom Loving Americans who understand that greatness takes sacrifice, a never quit attitude, and the desire to be independent and self-reliant, are also very compassionate. No Freedom Loving American could have watched that show last evening and not have compassion for Lincoln Chafee. Yes, it is true the Constitution has minimal requirements for who can be President, and Chafee clearly proved how minimal those requirements really are.
