New jobs created have been led by part time positions and low income positions. In December of 2013 the report was an increase of 74,000, in January of 2014 the report was an increase of 113,000 and now an increase of 175,000. This is an average of about 120,000. Even though we have seen an upward trend in these three months, the overall trend is down. Reports are that 2014 will be a year of real struggle for job growth, with Obamacare being one of the main reasons, over regulation another and excessive corporate taxes another.
An increase of 120,000 new jobs created at this point in Ronald Reagan’s Presidency would have been a dramatic downturn. In his last term, almost 11,000,000 new jobs were created or well over 2,500,000 per year. This difference is magnified even more considering the growth of population. Why is there such a drastic difference? That can best be answered when we understand Reagan was a free enterprise believer, Obama is a Marxist; Reagan advocated less government, Obama advocates more government; Reagan lowered taxes, Obama raises taxes; Reagan reduced regulation, Obama increase regulation; Reagan believed in self-reliance, Obama believes in government reliance; Reagan believed the world was better because of America, Obama believes America makes the world a less desirable world; and Reagan was a statesman and an honest man, Obama is a Chicago style politician and a liar.
Sadly, the person who occupies the White House reflects the character of the electorate. If the electorate will take an honest look at itself, perhaps we will require our next leader, if an election does take place in 2016, be a statesman, to be a person of integrity and high character so America can have the same resurgence we had when Reagan became leader in place of Carter.
