In the past three decades, the number of Americans who are on disability has skyrocketed. The rise has come even as medical advances have allowed many more people to remain on the job, and new laws have banned workplace discrimination against the disabled. Every month, 14 million peopl now get a disability check from the government.
The federal government spends more money each year on cash payments for disabled former workers than it spends on food stamps and welfare combined. Yet people relying on disability payments are often overlooked in discussions of the social safety net. People on federal disability do not work. Yet because they are not technically part of the labor force, they are not counted among the unemployed.
This is Fundamental Transformation in action. These are clear examples of devaluing the private sector of the economy by paying the public sector in a way that says they are of greater value. The Marxist/Progressives have always valued the public sector above the private since it is the capitalist who is the cause of all suffering in society. We are seeing these examples in all levels of government.
The next example is sharing the wealth. The funds to pay the disability come from private taxpayers who have earned their wealth by working in the private sector. The Marxists/Progressives will justify these payments as part of the safety net which has become a massive program of sharing the wealth. This is what Obama told Joe the Plumber, and if you do not agree with him, you are a part of the evil capitalistic system. We are clearly seeing what Obama meant when he said he would Fundamentally Transform the United States.
The American public does not understand what is happening. We must educate ourselves and then
boldly and directly confront the Marxist/Progressives.
We must do it ourselves because we have elected people like John McCain
who prefer to enable as opposed to
