The Tenth Amendment says that any power not given to the federal government was reserved for the states and for the people. One of the powers specifically assigned to the federal government was to establish a military including a navy and to then provide for the common defense of the people. What do the Marxist/Progressives do but dismantle the military and then rather than provide for the common defense, they encourage threats to our citizens by failing to protect our borders and by failing to protect our interests in foreign countries.
The federal government was not given any authority over local police forces. That was a power reserved for the states and the people. The founders certainly understood a nationalized police force would be a major step toward a totalitarian state. We now have Marxist/Progressives (Democrats) on Capitol Hill intensifying their push for legislation to demilitarize local law enforcers in the wake of Obama's newly launched effort to do just that.
“I’m going to continue fighting to see these and other ideas passed into law and made permanent," Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) said Monday in a statement. "[W]e must remember that military equipment fundamentally changes the relationship between police and the communities they serve, and is the opposite of what should be happening on our main streets.”
THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE FOR CONGRESS. THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR LOCAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT. POLICING IS A POWER RESERVED FOR THE STATES AND FOR THE PEOPLE. THIS IS ANOTHER STEP TOWARD NATIONALIZING ALL POLICE. THIS IS ANOTHER STEP TOWARD A TOTALITARIAN MARXIST STATE. ANYBODY WHO WANTS A FREE AMERICA SHOULD OPPOSE THIS EFFORT AND ALL EFFORTS THAT VIOLATE THE TENTH AMENDMENT.
