This is a dramatic slowdown. As alarming is this fact. There are currently 61.1 million American men in their prime working years, age 25–54. A staggering 1 in 8 such men are not in the labor force at all, meaning they are neither working nor looking for work. This is an all-time high dating back to when records were first kept in 1955. An additional 2.9 million men are in the labor force but not employed (i.e., they would work if they could find a job). A total of 10.2 million individuals in this cohort, therefore, are not holding jobs in the U.S. economy today. There are also nearly 3 million more men in this age group not working today than there were before the recession began. This is an alarming 16.7% real unemployment rate for this key demographic.
These numbers are all but ignored or inaccurately reported by the mainstream media.
“U.S. economy shrinks, but it's not a big deal,” read a headline on CNNMoney.com.
“Blame Old Man Winter: economy contracts for first time in three years,” NBC News tweeted.
“All that snow and ice froze business, but most economists believe it sets the economy up for rebound this quarter and there are some encouraging signs in the numbers,” CBS News’ Anthony Mason reported.
Many mainstream outlets did not even report the negative number much less the downturn or the true unemployment numbers. Eventually the truth will be made known just like the press could no longer ignore the fact that Obama and his regime have lied to the American public on many different issues. The reason for the economic condition of our nation is simply because Marxist policies do not promote growth. They never have promoted growth. They are anti-growth. Obama’s policies are Marxist; therefore they will never promote a strong growing economy like reduced tax rates and less regulation will. These are strong capitalistic policies and the mainstream press is anti-capitalism.
