Just what is oppression? The dictionary defines oppression as to burden with cruel or unjust impositions or restraints; subject to a burdensome or harsh exercise of authority or power: a people oppressed by totalitarianism. Oppression is not some police officer pulling you over and asking to see your driver’s license. Oppression is not some fool calling you a derogatory name. Oppression is not some individual with an opinion different from years verbally expressing that view. Those who would consider these acts of oppression are individuals looking to find any excuse to call themselves oppressed so they can get something for nothing.
I had the privilege to go to Romania over the week-end for my second time that country. I will probably go again. It is a beautiful country with wonderful people. The country is clean and appeared to be virtually crime free. The people are energetic, highly educated with most speaking three, four, or more languages, polite, and very kind and helpful.
The Romanian people are a people who have historically lived under tyrannical governments. A quick history of Romania shows us that these people have been ruled by the three major empires of that area, the Roman Empire, The Ottoman Empire, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. They lived under a Monarchy for a century and then were cruelly dominated by Nazi Germany and then the Communists.
The Franklin Roosevelt administration was directly responsible for the Romanians and the rest of Eastern Europe being subjugated to the tyrannical rule of the Communists. It was Franklin Roosevelt, being greatly influenced by Communist Harry Hopkins and the many other Communists in the Roosevelt administration, who overruled Winston Churchill and abandoned the second front in Europe they had already established in Southern Europe for the ill-conceived idea of a Western Front demanded by Stalin. This foolish decision by Roosevelt resulted in the death of many people including many Americans, prolonged the war by at least a year, and enabled Roosevelt’s buddy Joseph Stalin to place Eastern Europe under Soviet dominance after the war.
The Romanian people, along with the people of Eastern Europe, had suffered greatly under the Nazi’s and now would suffer just as greatly under the Communists. The Nazi’s and the Communists were oppressors. They burdened people with cruel or unjust impositions or restraints; subjected people to a burdensome or harsh exercise of authority or power: oppressed all by totalitarianism.
The Nazi’s and the Communists would kill people just because they were of a certain race or ethnicity such as the Jews or Gypsies. We in the United States can relate to this in a small way as we watch Black Lives Matter kill people just because they are wearing police blue.
The Nazi’s and the Communists would create riots and attack people who would voice an opinion different from theirs. We in the United States can relate to this in a small way as we see Antifa attack, create mayhem, and harm innocent people who would express or hold an opinion different from theirs.
The Nazi’s and the Communists would indiscriminately loot stores, burn buildings, destroy property, and march in the streets smashing windows because they were in what they considered to be an undesirable business district. We in the United States can relate to this in a small way as we see Black Lives Matter, Antifa, thugs, useful idiots, and misinformed groups riot, or what the Marxist/Progressives and politically correct useful idiots call “protesting,” as looting, burning of buildings, destruction of property, and marching or mayhem in the streets occurs.
It is so refreshing to go to places like Romania and listen to people who have recently been able to experience freedom. They appreciate freedom and are so grateful to no longer live under an oppressor. If only these people in the United States, who might be inconvenienced, but are certainly not oppressed, would refuse to listen to the Marxist/Progressive agitators and racists such as Obama, Holder, Sharpton, Jackson, and their comrades, and realize it is the goal of these Marxist/Progressives and racists to agitate so as to create the chaos and hatred they desire. It is through this process the Marxist/Progressives believe they can fundamentally transform the United States into a Communist state such as the one under which Romania was oppressed. Then the Marxist/Progressives can and will truly oppress all people, including those who were inconvenienced and helped the Marxist/Progressive attain the oppressive tyrannical state they desire.
This my fellow Freedom Loving Americans is not fiction, nor is it hyperbole. It is reality. We either realize what is happening now and confront it directly, or we remain naïve and believe this could not happen in the United States, only to awaken one morning to a Marxist knocking at our door telling us he is there to take us to a better place.
