It was very easy to see that the house was then and is now very nice and in a very good area of Trier. His father, attorney and landowner who grew grapes, and his mother, wealthy lady from a Belgium family of furniture makers, decided a year after Karl’s birth that they would move to a bigger house and one in an even nicer neighborhood. The Marx family was certainly upper middle class. Karl attended the very best private school Trier had to offer.
His future wife, Jenny Von Westphalen, also was raised in the upper crust society of Trier. She was a very popular girl and was engaged to an officer in the Prussian military who apparently had a very bright future. She broke her engagement with the officer to become engaged to and eventually marry Marx.
The Marx’s, Karl and Jenny, never lost their thirst to live as upper crust bourgeois, although Marx advocated for the proletariat. The financial situation of the Karl and Jenny Marx condition was always tenuous. Only when their friend Friedrich Engels was able to endow them with a lifetime income were they able to live as the upper crust bourgeois they so longed to do. Their financial condition had improved for a short time when Jenny received her inheritance from her mother, but the money she received was soon gone. Karl Marx and his wife Jenny, always would strive to live like the very people he condemned, the wealthy. Friedrich Engels lived as the wealthy because he was wealthy.
I remind you of this background, because those who advocate for the same principles Marx advocated, also either strive to live as the wealthy or do live as the wealthy. Some names that will be familiar would be the Obama’s, Valarie Jarrett, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Al Sharpton, and we could go on and on. The hypocrisy we see within the Marxist/Progressive movement today has always been a part of the movement.
Another thought that came to mind today as I listened to the explanations was that Marx was not a promoter of socialism. Marx and Engels wrote the Communist Manifesto and always advocated for Communism or Marxism. Yes, Socialism is imperative in a Communist or Marxist movement, but Socialism can be implemented without a Communist or Marxist implementation. Socialism advocates for state ownership of productive property and a distribution of income based on need. Communism or Marxism in addition to socialism, requires a dedication to the state demanding complete conformity in everything including thought. This is why Marx said religion must be abolished in a Communist or Marxist state, because God could not be placed above the state. Marx said consequently there is no God and why he became a follower of Darwin.
Marx advocated a proletariat revolution, throwing off the chains of capitalism. Marx recognized that the revolution might not be possible in some countries like the United States. Marx said a transformation would have to take place in these societies. This is the fundamental transformation Obama promised the United States back in the fall of 2008. The transformation had already begun before Obama’s promise. Franklin Roosevelt gave that same transformation a huge boost, changing the United States to a nation that made huge progress toward a welfare state and advocated for a safety net system. FDR also paved the way for the Communist takeover by Stalin of Eastern Europe during and after World War II.
And now we not only have a Marxist/Progressive (Democrat) Party strongly advocating for a continuation of this transformation of Marx, Roosevelt, and Obama, but we have a Republican party whose establishment wing is enabling that transformation. The Republican Party controls the executive branch and both houses of congress and yet they refuse to repeal Obamacare. Obamacare, or government controlled health care is critical to the transformation, as Lenin told us and did. The Republican establishment has chosen to continue funding Planned Parenthood. The Republican establishment has chosen not to close our borders. Remember, Marx said all workers must have free and complete mobility and all borders should be abolished to which the Republican establishment apparently agrees. The Republican establishment has chosen to continue to fund big government programs at current levels and in some cases increases.
Yes, today I was reminded how Marxist/Progressive Obama said in his last budget that the Republicans gave him everything he wanted. Now Marxist/Progressive Schumer said this latest budget looks just like a Marxist/Progressive (Democrat) budget.
I was once again reminded, as I toured the Karl Marx museum, that if Ryan, McCarthy, McConnell, McCain, and the other members of the Republican establishment are not closet Marxists, they are certainly “useful idiots” of the Marxist/Progressives (Democrats). We who are Freedom Loving Americans have learned these “useful idiots” make all kinds of promises and keep none of them. These “useful idiots” who claim they are moving toward the complete fundamental transformation at a slower pace, forget that the pace they are advocating will still accomplish the complete fundamental transformation Marx, Lenin, Roosevelt, Obama, and all Marxists want.
The only answer to the United States remaining a free nation with Individualist beliefs, to a complete reversal of all policies that lead us toward a Marxist totalitarian state. Yes, Marx was very smart. Yes, Engels was very smart. Many Marxists might be very smart. But everything they advocate is wrong because it has always ended in complete failure. Ask Soviet Russia, the Soviet Block, Mao’s China, Castro’s Cuba, and now Venezuela.
Jefferson was correct when he told us that freedom will cease to exist when you take from those who would work and give to those who would not. Freedom of religion, speech and thought, assembly, and the press are critical to freedom. These are the principles upon which we were founded and these are the principles to which we must return.
