In 1961 Ronald Reagan said Americans were slowly surrendering to socialism just as socialists had predicted they would, including Karl Marx and Norman Thomas who was a candidate for President six times on the Socialist Party ticket. Thomas had commented that the American people would never knowingly vote for socialism, but under the name of liberalism, they would adopt every fragment of the socialist program. History has proven this to be correct. Not only have the American people voted for liberalism over the past, but in the last two presidential elections they elected a Marxist/Progressive to that office who promised in 2008 to bring about the fundamental transformation outlined by Marx.
Reagan went on to explain a tactic that is used by the leftist demagogues. That tactic is to appeal to the emotions of the good hearted Americans. In the health care fight Reagan predicted would come, he explained these demagogues would misrepresent the facts and say senior citizens desperately needed medical care and were unable to finance it. The facts were that less than ten per cent required financial aid. This tactic continues to be used.
This ad as run today: No Lobby for Grandma Means a Budget Throwing Grandkids off Train. The article talked about a grandmother in Arizona who would not be able to pay the electricity bill this summer because of the budget cuts, which were not budge cuts but less of an increase in spending. This type of misrepresentation has been employed by demagogues throughout the ages. The current ideologues in the administration have mastered it. They will continue with the policies of Marx to bring about the fundamental transformation promised in 2008 by the Marxist/Progressive leader and will continue with their fervent belief that the ends justify the means. They have proven time and time again that veracity is not in their game plan.
