Once again, it is we the people who have failed. We the people re-elect these people while at the same time complaining about how bad they are. It is we the people who complain about the waste and fraud within the huge bureaucracy but then complain when a program that would benefit us might be curtailed. Term limits will not change anything other than placing different names and faces in the House and the Senate. The people of California imposed term limits years ago. If anything, term limits have created bigger problems.
Until we the people accept that any problem we face in this country is because we the people have allowed it, nothing will change. We the people have allowed our public-school system to become a Marxist indoctrination system. Yet, we do nothing to change it. What was the last school board meeting you attended? When was the last time you became involved in a school board election? When was the last time you visited a school room or reviewed your children's or grandchildren's homework? When was the last time you took positive action as opposed to just complaining?
We the people complain about the bureaucracy which has become huge and out of control. The only way to cut back on the size of government is to reduce the budgets, the number of people hired by the government, the number of agencies and departments, and the number of programs. Yet when it is a program such as Social Security (which was accurately described as a massive welfare program by both the attorney who argued for FDR before the Supreme Court and by Ronald Reagan in 1961), Medicare (which was the first step toward nationalized health care), federal involvement in education, endowments to the arts, and many other government programs we oppose the cuts if they benefit us or we believe they do good.
Change will only come about when we the people understand that government is the single biggest threat to our freedom. Change will only come about when we the people stop looking to the federal government for any solution other than to provide protection from outside enemies and protect our boarders. We the people, have assumed the same position the Marxists have assumed and that is that government is the solution to all our problems. Sometimes we disagree with the Marxists as to what the proper solution is, but nevertheless we have also started to look to government for answers.
I mentioned the schools earlier, because until we start to educate our children rather than indoctrinate our children, nothing will change. The Marxists have indoctrinated these kids to believe that government is the solution for all problems and the self-reliant and independent individual is a threat to government, therefore they are bad and enemies of the state. The Marxists have indoctrinated our children to believe that Marxism is the best answer and freedom and independence are a threat to Marxism. Term limits will not alter anything but names and faces. The problem must be solved, not covered by a band-aide, otherwise the United States will continue down its path of fundamental transformation to a Marxist totalitarian state.
