The real losers in this debacle are the American people, American freedom and liberty, and the ideal of Individualism; the very essence upon which our nation was founded and upon which our nation was built. Once again, the Conservative public or Freedom Loving Americans were led to believe one thing, only to find out what they were told was a total lie. For the last seven years, the Republican establishment, led by the likes of Ryan and Boehner have been telling Freedom Loving Americans that they recognize the evil that is Obamacare, and it is their intent to repeal this catastrophe. Trump also promised that if he won the election he would repeal Obamacare.
Freedom Loving Americans believe that words have meanings. That is why Freedom Loving Americans say that there are no exceptions to freedom of speech, including speaking the truth about Muslims and what the Koran says, because the First Amendment says that congress shall make NO law that abridges freedom of speech. Freedom Loving Americans believe that NO law includes any prohibition against speech even if it is considered offensive or if it is not politically correct. So, when we Freedom Loving Americans were told that Ryan (the Republican establishment) and Trump intended to repeal Obamacare, we thought they meant to revoke or annul Obamacare.
What we learned is that what Ryan (the Republican establishment) and Trump really meant was that they wanted a new form of Obamacare. Ryan gave us a lot of double and triple talk as to why Obamacare could not be repealed in one vote, but that it would take three votes. Trump seemed to go along with Ryan and so we can only assume he supported this lie as well. Ryan, along with apparently Trumps support, pulled a Marxist/Progressive (Democrat) trick when he wrote the bill in secret and said there would be no amendments. As we all know, the bill was pulled and no vote was taken.
What we have learned from this fiasco is that Trump does not like certain facets of Obamacare, but is certainly not opposed to the federal government controlling health coverage and health care. Trump has even made overtures to the Marxist/Progressives (Democrats) to help him reform Obamacare; which is not the repeal we were promised. We have also learned that Ryan (the Republican establishment) also is opposed to certain facets of Obamacare, but seems to be fine with the federal government in control. Ryan (the Republican establishment) also wants to reform Obamacare; which is not the repeal we were promised.
All along the press and the Progressives promoted the scenario that if Obamacare was repealed it would have to be replaced. This is a false scenario. Obamacare can and should be totally repealed. The federal government should not be involved in health care or health coverage in any manner. Ronald Reagan expressed this same principle in June of 1961. Medicare came into existence on the lie that the American population, especially the elderly had inadequate coverage and were receiving inadequate care because of it. Reagan explained that if that was the case, it was the case for less than 5 per cent of the elderly. Nevertheless, Johnson was able to sell the lie and the ruination of the American health system began with the adoption of Medicare.
Medicare has been in large part responsible for creating the atmosphere that made Obamacare possible. All the fabricated ills Medicare was to have corrected, it created; that is high and uneven costs of care, inadequate and costly premiums for coverage for all, and a large part of the population without coverage. This is what happens when our federal government or any federal government becomes involved in those sectors of the economy which should be and are best left to the private sector. The replace part of Obamacare should have been complete withdrawal from the medical and insurance segments of the economy by the government and a complete return of these to the private sector. The American public would have been the winner and the government and politicians would have been the losers. This is the correct scenario if a nation is to remain free with a prosperous and robust economy.
The United States was founded on the above principle. When our founders created the government, they fully realized that the necessary evil they were creating, the government, was the single biggest threat to the freedom they had just won. The founders did everything they could to protect that freedom form government. That is why they limited the powers of the government in the constitution and why they created a divided government that was more conducive to grid lock than to getting things done.
The founders fully realized that when government won, the people lost. This is why it was the intent of the founders to have the “servants” in the government be citizen servants and not “professional” sovereigns. The very essence of the Marxist/Progressives (Democrats) is to have government dictate not only our interests, but every aspect of our lives. The recent Obamacare fiasco must lead any rational thinking person to believe that Ryan (the Republican establishment) and Trump are also in the government camp, just not as extreme as are the Marxist/Progressives (Democrats).
We Freedom Loving Americans are in the camp of the founders and understand that the government is the single biggest threat to our freedom and it is the government that secured more power while we the citizen lost more of our liberty with the retention of Obamacare.
