With a fiery tone and Gruber seated only feet away, Rep. Elijah Cummings (M/P-Md.) called Gruber's remarks "stupid, absolutely stupid," "irresponsible, incredibly disrespectful" and "insulting."
"I am extremely frustrated with Dr. Gruber's statements," Cummings said, almost shouting. "I was in Congress when this law was debated, and Dr. Gruber does not speak for me or the chairmen of other committees who worked tirelessly on this bill."
Seeking to rebut Gruber's claims, Cummings said the House held roughly 80 hearings and mark-ups on the healthcare law prior to its passage. "Never once did I believe, or did anyone suggest, that we were somehow hiding our goals from the American people," he said.
Cummings later spoke directly to Gruber. "I got to tell you, [the comments] were insulting," he said. "They were especially harmful, because they gave the opponents of the [Affordable Care Act] a PR gift. You did a great job; you wrapped it up with a bow."
Is Cummings lying now or did Pelosi lie when she said the bill would have to be passed to know what was in it. They may have worked tirelessly on the bill but the work was not to be sure the American people were informed. The work was to calculate how best to pass the Marxist bill by hook or by crook. Did Cummings realize Obama was lying when he was telling the American people they could keep their plan and their doctor? Gruber knew it was a lie. If in fact Cummings had worked on the bill tirelessly he would also have known Obama was lying. Is Cummings angry with Obama, I would imagine not since Obama insinuated the American people were stupid but did not say it directly.
It appears Cummings and all the Marxist/Progressives are angry with Gruber because his truthful statements saw the light of day and now all know this horrible bill is based on deceit. The American public is now seeing that Obama and all Marxist/Progressives have been deceitful; yes liars. The American public now understands that these people do operate by the dictate of Marx and Alinsky; the ends always justify the means. Lies and deceit are always proper when it furthers the cause.
