Individuality and nonconformity is what builds a great society. Conformity and acceptance of the status quo is how societies stagnate. The freedom and prosperity America has enjoyed is because great entrepreneurs like Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Ford had the freedom to innovate without restrictions placed on them by small minded people holding public office. The status quo today dictates that innovators, entrepreneurs, and all independent and self-reliant people be ostracized and demonized when they are perceived as placing individual above community or are not conforming to the Marxist philosophy. Americans have come to accept that the primary role of government is to provide a safety net for its citizens. Nothing could be further from the truth.
This philosophy is advancing the movement toward a totally conforming and egalitarian society or a Marxist society. The end is always a totalitarian state, a denigration of society, and an economic collapse. The Marxists always argue this has been caused by the evil and greed inherent in capitalism, and society should only function on a totally egalitarian basis because it is humane and compassionate. Creating loss of self and inhibiting self-identity and self-worth is what the Marxist does so those in power can believe they are needed. This is the worst of all human behavior.
This issue transcends Republican and Democrat politics. This issue is now an issue of Freedom Loving Americans versus the Marxist/Progressive philosophy. Any Freedom Loving American who is concerned about maintaining the political status quo and insisting that any change in direction in America must be controlled by the political machine is a hindrance to America remaining free. Those party officials are more concerned about their place in the power structure than the immediate and future freedom for America. We must transcend party politics and place only our current and future freedom as our primary goal. We must have the courage to speak out against the now prevalent safety net that is destroying our people. That safety net is becoming very quickly an enslaving net and leading America down the same path Venezuela and other nations have taken.
Thomas Paine said we should not trade incentive for a dole, our freedom for beneficence, or our dignity for a handout. This is the attitude that must once again become prevalent in the thinking of all Americans, for then Freedom will ring from all corners of our nation and America will again become the beacon of light and freedom it was born to be.
