I have a liberal friend who is now advocating that the sponsors of Rush Limbaugh should be boycotted so freedom of speech is curtailed and a different point of view is silenced. This is from a person who calls himself a progressive and says he believes in and is in favor of free and open discussion. The left, liberal, progressive or Marxists have always claimed they have wanted a free and open exchange of ideas. They call people on the right (correct) side racists, homophobes, bigots and sexists because they claim those on the right (correct) are not open to others ideas.
G. F. W. Hegel, the person from whom Marx derived much of his philosophy, that being the same philosophy adopted by Obama, Axelrod, Jarrett and the other Marxist/Progressives, said freedom is when people are allowed to make a decision without any coercion. Unfortunately he extended the definition when he said that absolute freedom is when all these un-coerced decisions are made in complete accordance with the universal principles of the state. This philosophy says the ideal is when we all think alike and have a totally conforming society. Marx abhorred anybody who disagreed with him. Lenin and Mao killed anybody who disagreed with them.
My friend, Obama, Axelrod, Jarrett and the Marxist/Progressives are saying anybody that disagrees with them should be silenced. They have the IRS and the NSA already working on the project. Obama has signed an executive order saying he is allowed to close the airwaves when he declares a national emergency. This is how free societies become totalitarian societies.
Our Founders understood how important free
speech and discussion are. They
also understood how important it is to a free society to have differing opinions and ideas. A society based on the teachings of Hegel and Marx, cannot remain free. A society with only one set of beliefs, or a totally conforming society is by extension a totalitarian society. The societies that embrace and encourage free and independent thinking have always been the strong and innovative societies. This was the United States before the advent of conformity encouraged and embraced by the Marxist/Progressives or the Regressive Progressives.
