We were established as a country with limited government and divided government. The government is in every aspect of our lives, although the powers to which it is limited are written in the constitution, these limitations are ignored by the federal government. The government was given no power to be involved in education or healthcare, and yet today the federal government dominates both and has destroyed both. No longer do we have divided government. The executive branch makes law, changes law, and abolishes law by choosing not to enforce the laws with which it does not agree.
The executive branch chastises the House for inviting a foreign leader to address it, although that right is clearly within the bounds of the House. Yes, the foreign leader did make a great case for the inadequacies of the executive branch in protecting the best interests of the United States and the free world. Now the executive branch chastises Senators for writing to a foreign government to remind that foreign government that the Senate must approve all treaties. The Senators who signed the letter were called traitors, even though they did nothing that violated the constitution, unlike the executive branch.
We were told we would be transformed and we have been. The constitution is nothing but a shattered memory of freedom and independence. Really, who is the traitor?
