I like many others believe that most of the “press” supports and voices opinions contrary to my own. However, there are people within the “press” with whom I closely relate. Depending on your leanings, you will have more representation or less representation. The wonderful aspect of the advances in communications is, with a little effort, we can go beyond the opinion or the slant of the specific person to whom we are listening or reading at the time.
We have come to the point where we have broadcasts discussing the “press” as a news item, and paying little or no attention to the underlying story. This makes it so easy for people who are in positions of responsibility to change the subject from the question of what are the facts, to the question of how the facts have been reported. The age old rule is when you do not want to discuss the fact, divert to the personality.
The “press” is comprised of people. People have opinions. Some people are content to just listen to others and then repeat the phrases with which they agree as if these phrases were factual. This is the uninterested, uninformed and uninvolved method or the lazy method. Remember what Thomas Jefferson told us. He said, “Freedom is lost gradually by an uninterested, uninformed and uninvolved people. His prediction is coming true.
No, Freedom Loving Americans, it is not the fault of the “press”. It is not the fault of the politician. The condition of the United States today, economically, socially and militarily is the fault of the American people, you and me. It is our fault because we are ultimately responsible. It is our fault because we will be living or existing under the conditions we are creating. It is our fault because we listen to one side to gather our talking points and do not do our own research. The Marxist/Progressives for instance are promoting a bill in the senate that would create a law that would begin the regulation of the “press” called the Shield Law. This bill is in direct violation of the First Amendment, and a direct affront to our freedom. It has received very little acknowledgement because we the American people have not taken the time to understand what it is.
We have never had greater opportunity to learn about issues. We still have an argument in this country as to whether or not the Obama’s, Jarrett, Axelrod and Podesta are Marxists as Marx taught Marxism. This is a ridiculous argument. If you understand what Marx taught, the facts are very clear. The argument and discussion should be if we the American people want to continue this fundamental transformation as promised by Obama from a free capitalist society to a Marxist society. It is only we the American people that must take responsibility for knowing the facts and directing the discussion, because it is we the American people that will flourish or suffer because of the decisions and policies that are made.
Know the underlying and real facts, and discuss using those facts. Do not be deterred by arguments meant to obfuscate the issue.
