This concept has always been evident to anybody who has viewed the situation with any objectivity, but many people need examples to believe. The founders wrote into the constitution that there would be three co-equal branches of government with checks and balances. They knew no one branch, especially the executive branch, could become all powerful for it that was to occur our free nation would cease and we would become a totalitarian state.
Recently, Obama, head of the regime and Marxist/Progressives rejected the notion that the IRS’ targeting of Tea Party groups was illegal — or even improper. In May, this same Obama called the targeting of conservative groups “outrageous” and “something that people are properly concerned about.” Also in May, the Obama Justice Department pledged to investigate the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS. As of last week, none of the affected groups had been contacted by any federal investigators.
Even though these actions of the IRS are clearly improper and illegal, Obama and the DOJ must have understood a complete investigation would show the original orders to target these groups came from the White House. Since the White House considers itself above the law, no investigation was conducted.
Obama’s repeated use of presidential powers is causing a tough problem — his own supporters now expect him to use it to achieve everything they want. From immigration to the minimum wage, congressional Marxist/Progressives this week urged Obama to declare an end run around Congress, assert executive authority and make as much progress as he can on the expansive agenda he laid out for his second term.
A day after Obama denounced income inequality, or in reality proposed the concept of from each according to his abilities to each according to his needs per Marx, Marxist/Progressive lawmakers said Obama should take the lead by issuing an executive order requiring all federal contractors to pay workers more than the minimum wage. A dozen lawmakers and immigration activists held a news conference outside the Capitol on Thursday asking Obama to halt all deportations as a down payment on an eventual immigration bill. Both of these proposals should be passed by the co-equal branch of government, the United States Congress and signed by the executive so they would be law, not established unilaterally by one super branch.
This is one major difference between Freedom Loving Americans and Marxist/Progressives; we Freedom Loving Americans say we cannot violate the Constitution even if it the action would advance our cause. The Marxist/Progressives say never let the United States Constitution prohibit us from moving forth the agenda. This is why the United States is teetering between remaining free or becoming a totalitarian state.
