In a 99-0 vote, all of the senators present rejected Obama’s blueprint.
It’s the second year in a row the Senate has voted down Obama’s budget.
Obama's 2012 budget failed 97 to 0 last May after Obama himself last April said he wanted deeper deficit cuts.
The fiscal year 2014 United States budget exists only as several competing drafts; no official budget has been approved. Obama submitted the FY2014 budget proposal on April 10, 2013, two months past the February 4 legal deadline.
After an all-night debate that ended just before 5 a.m., the Senate on Saturday adopted its first budget in four years, a $3.7 trillion blueprint for 2014. Remember the Senate was controlled by Obama’s Marxists.
The 2015 budget proposal, "We need to put politics aside, pass a budget that funds our national security priorities at home and abroad and gives middle class families the security they need to get ahead in the new economy," Obama said. "This is one of our most basic and most important responsibilities of our government."
And yet under a Marxist controlled House and Senate for two years and Marxist controlled Senate for an additional four years, our government has not been passing budgets, we have been operating on continuing resolutions, mostly voted on and passed after midnight. This most basic and most important responsibility has been neglected for six years. Let us pray, for the good of the country that any budget adopted this year and next year cuts all needless and wasteful spending, cuts any spending for any purpose that has not been specifically given to the federal government under the constitution, thus being reserved for the states and the people. This would include spending for the Department of Education, The Department of Health and Human Resources, the Department of Agriculture, and this is just the beginning.
The budget should also refrain from using the tax code to punish those who strive to achieve. A progressive tax code is a punishing and damaging tax code and hurts all Americans because it limits growth. Any and all benefit programs should only be run by state governments thus elevating huge revenues be paid to the feds. The less money the federal government collects, the less waste and fraud we have and the less duplication of government.
Americans, these are the hard facts. The success of any nation is not dependent on its government but on its people. A free nation requires a responsible citizenry. If the United States is to again truly be free and prosper, we must greatly restrict and eliminate government, including such programs as Social Security and Medicare. Greece revolted when given the choice of rebuilding their nation and reverted to the welfare state which relieves individual responsibility and limits freedom and national prosperity. Will we be Greeks or will we be Americans like our founders?
