The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. It is about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual.
This definition stresses the character of the individual. True diversity is achieved when, as Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
In a truly diverse society, we recognize and individual for their achievements and successes and we hold individuals accountable for their poor decisions, misdeeds, and crimes as well. This the Collectivist cannot do. The Collectivist believes that the poor decisions made, the misdeeds of, and the crimes committed by an individual are not because of the choices of the individual but because of sum supposed negative action against a group, of which the individual is identified. The Collectivist beliefs that the diversity of a society, and the acceptance by a society of all groups comes about group by group.
It is this misunderstanding by the Collectivist that has caused so much hate and division in the world and our nation. The only possible way to a truly diverse society without hate and division is when we as individuals do exactly what MLK said and look at the character of each individual and not the color of their skin or some other unimportant factor.
Yet the Collectivist refuses to understand this simple concept and continues in their quest to bring about more hate and division by making excuses for individuals with negative character as they associate them with some perceived oppressed group. Here is a perfect example.
A rising star of the Labour Party (Marxist/Progressives) in the United Kingdom, who is a key ally of Labour Party (Marxist/Progressive) Leader Jeremy Corbyn, shared a Twitter post telling sex abuse victims of the Rotherham scandal to ‘shut their mouths for the good of diversity’.
Naz Shah, the rising star who represents Bradford West, shared and liked the post by a parody account of newspaper columnist Owen Jones.
It said: ‘Those abused girls in Rotherham and elsewhere just need to shut their mouths. For the good of diversity.’
It comes just days after Ms Shah, 43, penned an open letter attacking fellow Labour MP Sarah Champion for writing an article stating ‘Britain had a problem with Pakistani men targeting vulnerable white girls’.
The Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal has been described as the "biggest child protection scandal in UK history". From the late 1980s until the 2010s, organized child sexual abuse continued almost unchallenged in the northern English town of Rotherham, South Yorkshire. And now the Collectivists want the individual victims to remain quite for the sake of diversity. What a great way to allow hate and prejudice to simmer and create greater division.
Yes, this could and does happen in the United States. We see it every day with the Marxist/Progressives condoning the thuggery and crimes of individuals who claim they must prevent freedom of speech to protect the oppressed. What they are really doing is stoking the flames for a revolution; but then that is exactly what Marx told them they must do.
